Tamisemi’s mandate includes formulating and implementing policies related to decentralization, including the National Policy on Decentralization, which has been in place since 1998. The Global Partnership for Education Teacher Support Programme (GPE – TSP) through the Office of the President, Regional Administration and Local Government (OR – TALIMISEMI) is implementing various interventions including coordinating the engagement of volunteer teachers. The project is advertising volunteer positions for 694 Primary School teachers who will work under Local Government Authorities in schools with the highest needs, based on the Primary Teacher Allocation Protocol (P – TAP) as outlined in the GPE – TSP Project Document. Tamisemi has been instrumental in various Local Government Reform Programmes, including Local Government Reform Programmes I and II, which were implemented based on the policy agenda on decentralization. The project will implement and test the impact of 6 components of the World Health Organisation (WHO) emergency care toolkit in pre-hospital and hospital settings in Tanzania along the busy A7 highway connecting the north and south of Tanzania. Through strengthening post-crash care, the project hopes to reduce the avoidable mortality, prevent lifelong disabilities, and improve outcome of RTI victims. In addition to improved patient outcomes, the implementation of standardized trauma form will support the development of a national trauma registry, facilitating assessment, quality improvement strategies, and provide evidence for decision making process by policy makers and other relevant authorities.

    The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP internships) project is a Midstream development located across Uganda and Tanzania that includes a nearshore Marine Storage and Export Terminal (MST). Once completed, the EACOP Company will operate the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, a 1,443 km long, electrically heated crude oil export pipeline that transports oil from Kabaale – Hoima in Uganda, to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania for crude export to the international markets. The construction of the EACOP Pipeline in combination with the Tilenga and Kingfisher projects will benefit the economies of Uganda and Tanzania include tax revenues for the two Host Governments, job creation, national content, new infrastructure, logistics, skills and technology transfer and enhancement of the trade corridor between Uganda and Tanzania. The EACOP internship and graduate programs focus on cultivating
    intern talent by providing hands-on experience and industry exposure. These programs support local content by engaging young professionals in various departments, enhancing their technical and professional skills.
