The Health and Insurance Management Services Organization (HIMSO), is a Tanzanian Non-Government Organization (NGO) established and registered in 2012 to complement the government’s effort in providing comprehensive quality healthcare coverage as well as develop and implement innovative insurance solutions to address pressing risk management needs of the low-income households. HIMSO is driving healthcare enhancement l interventions while providing technical expertise for l the development of social protection innovations, particularly in micro-insurance through Public Private Partnership (PPP). The organization collaborates strategically to bridge the gap between healthcare and insurance, ensuring that everyone has the support and protection they need in times of uncertainty.HIMSO champions Early Childhood Development (ECD) through its primary healthcare program in 10 underserved councils across Songwe and Mbeya l regions. These communities face a significant knowledge gap regarding ECD principles, hindering optimal care and support for young children’s holistic development. HIMSO’s ECD program tackles the critical issue of child development in Songwe, where only 24.8% of children currently meet developmental milestones (according to ECDI 2030).
