Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA Vacancies) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 1989 and registered under the Societies Act of 1990. The organization is compliant with the NGOs Act of 2002 though obtained an NGOs status in 2019. The aims and objectives of the organization are to advocate for gender equality and to promote human dignity and gender justice through policy, community action, media engagement, and legal and institutional reforms. Violence against women and children, is an everyday reality for the majority of women and children in Tanzania. Given its widespread prevalence, addressing violence against women and girls should be a central development goal. In Tanzania, violence against women and children hinders the country’s ability to reach its full economic potential, diverting resources from their optimal utilization and negatively impacting the country’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, African Agenda 2063 The Africa We Want, Tanzania Development Vision 2025, Tanzania Youth Development Policy 2007, National Strategy for Youth Involvement in Agriculture 2016-2021, and Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). TAWLA as a technical partner in the implementation of the project titled ” Building Rights for Improved Girl’s Health in Tanzania (BRIGHT)”. The Project aims to integrate adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SHR), and nutrition care practices and interventions.
