Ciheb Tanzania is a local-registered and led not-for profit organization formed out of the University of Maryland Baltimore’s (UMB) Tanzania programs. As such, the knowledge, staff, financial and administration systems used over the last 18 years of UMB work in Tanzania supporting over 7 USG and WHO-funded HIV and TB programs in 28 regions and 140 districts with a portfolio of over $30 million and 60 staff was transitioned to Ciheb-Tanzania. The Mission is to improve access to education, healthcare, water and sanitation through research and provision of technical assistance for the benefit of the public through highest regard to integrity, health professional skills, technical quality and sound fiscal management. The Objectives of Ciheb-Tanzania are: To promote strengthening of health systems, quality service delivery and technical assistance for the provision of high-quality clinical care and service deliverance in Tanzania. To promote and enhance health service education, healthcare, and water and sanitation for improvement of health, fight against diseases and well-being of the people. Advocate Implementation of programs with the highest regard to integrity, health professional skills, technical quality and sound fiscal management.
