The Centre for Counselling Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH Tanzania) is a leading Indigenous Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered under Certificate of Ordinance No.9495 in 1998 that is committed to achieving optimal nutrition and quality life for children, women and other vulnerable groups in Tanzania. COUNSENUTH works to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups through cost effective, innovative evidence-based nutrition actions with advocacy for better governance and accountability and active engagement of citizens in health and nutrition. Its Mission is to achieve these through innovative, cost-effective, evidence-based actions that enhance positive behaviors and practices with active community participation. This is a volunteer project implemented by COUNSENUTH in collaboration with the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI). COUNSENUTH provides nutrition care and support services to cancer patients, survivors and their relatives. The main goal of this initiative is to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors through nutritional care and support and also to provide information on prevention to their families and the general public.
