Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) is a Tanzanian network organization with 6000 members with registration number OONGO/0640 bringing together members to change policy and practice in the natural resource sector for the better through: a) sharing the knowledge base of practice and b) strengthening citizens’ voice for improved natural resource governance. TNRF seeks to support its members by improving communication, sharing information, promoting collaboration and strengthening collective action. It works on promoting the improvement of natural resource governance to achieve more sustainable rural livelihoods and better conservation outcomes. TNRF works with members across the country and is linked with partners and members outside the country, but mainly concentrated in areas categorized as stress points in relation to pressure on existing natural resources in Tanzania. TNRF facilitates member-driven ‘Working Groups’ on key policy and practice issues that are of direct interest to members. These working groups are very collaborative and provide an opportunity for TNRF’s diverse membership to tackle concerns at a range of different levels. There are currently working groups engaged in TNRF’s strategic direction of Land based Investment(LBI), Community based natural Resources Management(CBNM), and Climate Change (CC).
